“Power of Siberia" has begun with the supply of gas
3,000 kilometers! That's the length of GAZPROM's new "Power of Siberia" pipeline. And the two UEFA Champions League venues St. Petersburg and Valencia are about the same distance apart. Would you have known? Then you would have had a good chance of winning Champions League tickets in the last TICKETMANIA raffle.
Coming back to the “Power of Siberia”, Gazprom has now completed the pipeline despite adverse conditions such as permafrost, swamp soil, mountains and seismically active regions and has already begun to feed natural gas into the pipeline. The gas from Yakutia and Irkutsk has now reached the gas monitoring station in close proximity to China, in Chayandinskoye. It will provide gas to both the east of Russia and China in the long term. To this end, the Chinese oil company "China National Petroleum Corporation" concluded a contract with Gazprom in 2014 for a 30-year gas supply with 38 billion cubic meters of gas annually. The next step is the filling of the pipeline to China under the border river Amur. The "Power of Siberia" is to be put into operation on December 1, 2019.
