Real Madrid has received the Nine Values Cup
MADRID, April 4, 2018. – Today, at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, professional Spanish football club Real Madrid received a unique award of the International Children's social programme Football for Friendship, the Nine Values Cup. Young participants of the programme from different countries unanimously recognized Real Madrid as the socially responsible football club of the year.
The Cup is awarded on an anual basis for the greatest commitment to the values of the Football for Friendship programme: friendship, equality, fairness, health, peace, devotion, victory, traditions, and honor.
Young Ambassadors of the Football for Friendship programme arrived in Madrid to hand over the award: Nicola Postiglione from Italy, Albert Zinnatov and Timofey Evstigneev from Russia, Emmeke Henschen from the Netherlands, as well as Paul Puig Montana from Spain.
The day before, in Turin, young participants met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gazprom, PJSC, Viktor Zubkov, and signed the Diploma for the presentation of the Nine Values Cup to the Real Madrid Football Club. The meeting was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Italian Republic Sergei Razov. On the same day, at the invitation of Viktor Zubkov, the kids attended the quarter finals match of the UEFA Champions League, Juventus vs Real Madrid.
Since 2015, football clubs Barcelona (Spain), Bayern (Germany), and Al Wahda (Syria) have, along with CF Real Madrid, been awarded the Nine Values Cup.
In 2018, the Football for Friendship programme unites 211 countries and regions all over the world. Its final events will be held in Moscow from 8 to 15 June and will be timed to coincide with the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

We are creating Football for Friendship as a platform for children around the world to be heard, and we are happy that more than 200 countries from all over the world joined the programme this year», said Viktor Zubkov.

To receive such an award as the Nine Values Cup is a great honour for us. After all, children themselves chose the Real Madrid club, and it's them that are our future. If the participants of the Football for Friendship programme are already ambassadors of universal values at such a young age, we don't need to worry about such future», said Vice President of the Real Madrid Foundation Enrique Sanchez.

I am extremely lucky to be the part of such a wonderful project! And I am happy that today I came here to give the award to the CF Real Madrid on behalf of the children of the whole world», said Emmeke Henschen (Netherlands), 15 years old.
The Nine Values Cup is a unique trophy of the Football for Friendship programme, which is annually awarded to one of the professional football clubs for implementing social initiatives. World-famous clubs that participated in charitable activities, social projects aimed at the benefit of society, are nominated for this award. Annually, the winner of the Nine Values Cup is the football club that meets the values of the Football for Friendship programme most fully: friendship, equality, fairness, health, peace, devotion, victory, traditions, and honor. Fans from all over the world participate in selecting the winner, but the final decision is made by the participants of the Football for Friendship project by voting.
Young Ambassadors of the programme:
Timofey Evstigneev, Russia, 12 years old. In 2018, he joined the Football for Friendship programme for the first time. He was engaged in football from little up, but six months ago he suffered a stroke and his entire right side of the body atrophied as a result. Despite the difficult ordeal, Timofey doesn't give up, but persistently continues his training and is sure that one needs to follow through with his goal.
Albert Zinnatov, Russia, 14 years old. In 2017, it was his fifth season in the Football for Friendship programme as one of the key speakers of the Forum, where he talked about the equal availability of football for all. He actively participates in all sports events in his city, despite being diagnosed with diabetes.
Paul Puig Montana, Spain, 12 years old. He participated in the fifth season of the Football for Friendship programme as a second striker. He has been playing soccer since early childhood, and he dreams of becoming a real professional and making football an even more popular sport in his native country.
Emmeke Henschen, the Netherlands, 15 years old. In 2016, she was elected the captain of the international Football for Friendship team. The purposeful girl adores football since her childhood and plays on a par with boys with great pleasure.
Nicola Postiglione, Italy, 13 years old. He takes part in the Football for Friendship programme for the second season. In 2017, he played as a midfielder in the international Football for Friendship team along with young footballers from Russia, Egypt, Slovakia, Denmark, Austria, Algeria and Iran.
The International Children's social programme Football for Friendship:
has been implemented by PJSC Gazprom since 2013. The key values, promoted by the programme participants, arefriendship, equality, fairness, health, peace, devotion, victory, traditions, and honor. Its participants are Young football Players (boys and girls, including those with disabilities), as well as Young Journalists covering the events of Football for Friendship within the framework of the International Children's Press center. Over the past five years, the programme has involved more than 3.7 thousand children. The total of more than 1.2 million people have supported the project during the five years. The project was awarded 16 international and Russian awards in social responsibility and communications.
During the Open Draw2018, 32 International Friendship Football Teams were formed. In addition, the positions for each Young football Player (goalkeeper, defender, midfielder or striker) from 211 countries and regions in the International Friendship Team were determined. After designating the roles for the Young Players, their coaches were selected as follows: 19 countries that will represent the Young Coaches were randomly determined by an Open Draw, 11 coaches will be selected from the cities that host the FIFA World Cup 2018, and 2 Young Coaches will be selected from the best participants of the previous seasons of the Football for Friendship programme.
