The Nine Values Cup is a unique trophy that celebrates the main nine values of the program – friendship, equality, justice, health, peace, devotion, victory, traditions and honor.
"The Russian football Union has been cooperating with the "Football for Friendship" program from the very beginning. In 2013, when the project was just starting, children from 8 countries took part in it. And this year the total number of participants is 211 countries and regions! It is infinitely gratifying that we are witnessing the growing popularity of the program around the world. This suggests that the values promoted by "Football for Friendship" are really important to everyone, and that they are shared by children and adults from all over the world. This is a clear success! We are looking forward to the results of the children's vote to find out which of the national teams of the 2018 World Cup will get this unique award", said Alexander Alaev, General Director of the Russian Football Union.
"I wish the Young Ambassadors of the "Football for Friendship" program the best of luck in the promotion of key human values, such as justice, victory, and honor. Without an understanding of these important basic principles it is impossible to become a successful football player, coach, or representative of any other profession. A year ago, I was lucky enough to witness the "Football for Friendship" championship in St. Petersburg, where children from 64 countries played. During the Championship, the judges were needed only to monitor the time of the match, there was absolutely no disagreement on the field, it was a real friendship and justice. I am happy that the guys of twelve years promote such wonderful values and show us, adults, what should be not only football, but also life itself", said the famous football player, honored master of sports of Russia, Ambassador of the "Football for Friendship" program Alexander Kerzhakov.
This year, 11 Young coaches from the host cities of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia take part in the "Football for Friendship" program. The first Vice-President and Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Russian Football Union Nikita Simonyan stressed the importance of developing the training program for children and youth sports teams, as well as their coaches, noting the success of the "Football for Friendship" program in this direction.
"Football is a school of life, because in football you experience the whole range of emotions, and this spiritual wealth will remain with you for life. The values of football are carried within each person during the life, and the most important value of football is communication. We recently played a companionable match of youth teams from different countries in Volgograd. After the game, Russian and German players began to communicate, they laughed, perfectly understanding each other, despite the difference in languages. Maybe they will not meet in the future, but these emotions and experiences they will carry through life", shared Ekaterina Fedyshina, Deputy Director General of the RFU on international issues.
"When you look at a football game, you catch yourself thinking that this is a small model of our planet. Football unites all. Nine values - friendship, equality, justice, health, peace, loyalty, victory, tradition and honor – are the driving force not only in sports but also in everyday life. It's great that the guys are making new friends, both on the football field and outside. And in our football family, thanks to this program, there are three million more people. We are always waiting for you at the matches of the Russian Football Premier League", said Sergey Cheban, Executive Director of the Russian Football Premier League.
"It's great that the "Football for Friendship" program gives young participants the opportunity to choose the professional football club that receives such an unusual and important award as the Nine Values Cup. This allows one to feel like a part of something global and important. It is gratifying that the organizers of the program are ready to entrust such a decision to us, ordinary children who go to school every day, and play football in the yard, all around the world. In addition, I believe that the nine values of the program play an important role in the life of every person, and even more so – a football player. So, at the final events of the program, I friends from different countries and I will gladly tell the world about these values and about how football and friendship unite countries, cultures and peoples", said the Young Ambassador of "Football for Friendship" Denis Aladyev (aged 12).
"For me, the nine key values of the program are a guide in relating to other people. I believe that without following the key human values it is impossible to become a good and successful person. I am glad that the "Football for Friendship" program allows me, together with guys from all over the world, to become Ambassadors of friendship, equality, justice, health, peace, devotion, victory, tradition and honor. The more people in the world speak, discuss, and draw attention to these values, the better our lives will be. I think an award such as "The Nine Values Cup" should be given in the future not only to the best football clubs, but also to people who have long been promoting these values in their field – for example, doctors, teachers or charitable organizations that save people", said the Young Ambassador of "Football for Friendship" Daniel Korobkov (aged 12).
