Coaches of children football teams from around world finished face-to-face part of programme in International Football for Friendship Coaches Academy
On May 30, within the framework of the final events of the Gazprom International Children’s Social Programme Football for Friendship, coaches of children football teams from all over the world have undergone face-to-face training in the International Academy. The theoretical part of the Academy’s programme included participating in training, workshops from sports experts, and theme sessions of the 2019 International Football for Friendship Forum.
The International Football for Friendship Academy is a free online educational platform including several practical pieces of training aimed at improving qualifications of youth teams’ and football sections coaches, as well as P.E. teacher.
The Academy’s course is based on knowledge, practical advice, recommendations on organization of the training, promotion of the values of a healthy and active lifestyle, and respect for different countries and nationalities among young players. The course was developed by the authors of the sports and humanitarian educational programmes of the Football for Friendship project, including the heads of the teaching process and coaches of the FC Barcelona Academy, experts of the FIFA humanitarian programmes. Young Participants and Coaches of the different seasons of F4F, footballers of FC Zenit, FC Schalke 04, representatives of football federations of different countries all participated in the making of the online lessons.
Within the framework of the International Football for Friendship Forum was conducted the theoretical course of the Academy. The Forum became the platform for exchanging experience, where athletes and representatives of football organizations conducted training, workshops for coaches from all over the world. This year, the Forum united 10 theme sessions dedicated to the topical questions of the children and youth sports development.
The experts discussed effective methods of training, professional ways of development of football coaches, management of children sports events, work on prevention of traumas in children football, special aspects of the dialog between a child and their parents, and methods of encouraging honour and fairness in sports.
As speakers at the event participated the Gazprom Chairman of the Board of Directors Viktor Zubkov, legendary football player of Brazil national team and Real Madrid FC, FIFA World Cup winner and 3-times UEFA Champions League winner Roberto Carlos, Young Ambassador of the programme from India Ananya Kamboj, the CEO of the Soccer Barcelona Youth Academy Miquel Puig, FC Delhi Dynamos manager Josep Gombau, the head of the Football Union of Russia on regional politics and international relations Alexey Smertin, the Technical Development and Social Responsibility Manager of the Brazil national football team Diogo Netto, the president of the youth football and scout club Peñarol (Uruguay) Pablo Cesar Torres, the coordinator of the Women FC Alkmaar (the Netherlands) Gerard Timmers, and many others.

The educational initiative of the programme aimed at improving the coaches’ skills. This will improve the level of training young players all over the world,” notes the football legend Roberto Carlos.
Launch of the International Football for Friendship Academy is planned for June 15, 2019. At the same time, several practical video lessons will be prepared with the participation of the Young Players and Coaches from different countries during the final events of the programme in Madrid.
The International Children’s Social Programme Football for Friendship has been implemented by Gazprom since 2013. The key values promoted by the programme's participants are friendship, equality, fairness, health, peace, devotion, victory, traditions, and honour. Football for Friendship is supported by the UEFA, FIFA, International Olympic Committee, football federations of different countries, children’s international charity funds, famous athletes, and the leading football clubs of the world. For the previous seasons, the programme has brought more than 6 thousand participants together and acquired over 5 million followers including famous athletes, artists, and politicians.
