This year, 32 Young Journalists from Europe, Africa, Asia, North and South America formed the crew of the Football for Friendship International Children’s Press Center. They will cover the final events of the Seventh Season of the programme and participate in preparing the materials together with international and national media.

The International Children’s Press Center has four main directions: Young Journalists will create news, photo and video content, posts for the social media blogs of the programme. The materials will be posted on the official website of the programme. Before going to Madrid, Young Journalists will visit the headquarters of the programme’s media-partners in their countries, where they will get an insight into the editorial and TV-studio work.

During the final events, the Young Participants will take part in workshops from professional correspondents and use the acquired knowledge at the International Football for Friendship Forum and the Football for Friendship Championship. Their materials will be published in the online newspaper of the programme, which is published since 2017 and consists of news, interviews, articles, personal stories. This year, the final issue will be published on June 2 on the official website of Football for Friendship.

Within the Seventh Season, Young Journalists will also get the opportunity to work with the leading international media as their string correspondents. Many children already have rich experience in such cooperation and were invited to participate in the programme as the best Young Journalists from previous seasons. Syria representative Yazan Taha, the youngest football commentator in the world and the football games host on BeINSport channel will become the 2019 Football for Friendship World Championship commentator. Ananya Kamboj is the 14-year-old Young Ambassador from India, who participated in the final events in Saint Petersburg in 2017 as a Young Journalist. Upon her return to her home country, she wrote a book about the Nine Values of the programme. The book was presented at the 2018 International Football for Friendship Forum.

“I am extremely happy to participate in the Football for Friendship International Children’s Press Center. This will help me develop my journalist skills and make new friends from all over the world because my plan is to become a true professional in the future. I am sure that it will be a pleasure to cover the final events in Madrid,” says Marcel Kastenhuber, a 13-year-old Young Journalist from Austria.

The Football for Friendship International Children’s Press Center acquaints children with the professional environment of sports journalism and helps them acquire experience of working at international events. The number of the Children’s Press Center equals to the number of the International Teams of Friendships, which is 32. This year, the final events of the programme, including the events of the International Children’s Press Center will take place in Madrid from May 28 to June 2.


The International Children’s Social Programme Football for Friendship is carried out by Gazprom PJSC since 2013. The key values of the programme promoted by its participants are friendship, equality, fairness, health, peace, devotion, victory, traditions, and honour. Football for Friendship is supported by FIFA, UEFA, the International Olympic and Paralympic Committees, football federations, international children’s foundations, famous athletes, and the world’s leading football clubs. Over the past six seasons, the events of Football for Friendship have brought together more than 5.5 thousand participants and acquired over 4.5 million supporters from different parts of the world, including athletes, artists, and politicians.
