AGT Communications Agency organizes internships for Young Journalists of Football for Friendship in international media

As the Seventh Season of the Football for Friendship programme ends, the AGT Communications Agency for the first time organizes internships for Young Journalists aged 12 in printed and online media all around the world. AGT top the National rating of the communication companies (NR2C) and for seven years it has been the Global Operator of the Gazprom International Children’s Social Programme Football for Friendship.

The idea of organizing internships in professional media for the participants of Football for Friendship (F4F) appeared during the final events of the Seventh Season of the programme in Madrid on May 28-June 2. Young Journalists of the Football for Friendship International Children's Press Center from 28 countries together with professional journalists worked in four main directions: created news about the programme, created photo and video content, practiced in making and promoting posts on social media. All materials of the Young Participants were published in the daily Football for Friendship newspaper and on the official YouTube channel of the programme. During the final events, the children perfected their interviewing and reporting skills.

At the end of the Seventh Season, the organizers noted the high level of competence of the Young Journalists of Football for Friendship and their desire to grow in the sphere of journalism. That is why they decided to organize internships for the best Young Journalists, according to the experts of the AGT Communications Agency, in the national and international media.

Young Journalist from Saint Petersburg Rafael Zinovyev will have a two-month internship in the sports department of the popular portal He will create sports news daily: materials of the professional journalists of will become instructions that will unravel the details of the trade. With the start of the 2019/2020 football season Rafael will also be involved in creating the interviews with athletes and coaches, on-the-spot reports. The Young Journalist will also get acquainted with the mechanics of work of news feed and social media oriented at sports topic. The participant of Football for Friendship will be able to apply the knowledge in August at one of the games of the Russian Football Championship as a young reporter of the portal, which traditionally covers the games of the championship.

Rafael will also join the Press Tour in Sochi as a reporter of where with the help of the Supervisory Board of the UEFA Foundation for children will be held the International social sports project SUPERCUP “Believe in your dream!”. The project is organized by the Football Union of Russia together with the Foundation for Support of the Development of Physical Education, Sports, and Public Health “YEDINSTVO”. The young man will cover football tournaments, and workshops from the former players of Russian national team Alexey Smertin and Dmitriy Sennikov.

Internships of the Young Journalists are also planned in Azerbaijan and Armenia. For example, Timur Zheltenkov, Young Participant of the Seventh Season from Azerbaijan will be able to refine his skills acquired during Football for Friendship in the Azerbaijan news Gevorgyan from Armenia, Young Participant of F4F 2019 will acquire practical skills of conducting a radio broadcast at the Radio one (Armenia).

In addition, F4F Young Journalist Lucas Calderon from Bolivia will get a chance to contribute as a guest writer for the new website of weekly magazine BBC Match of the Day, where he will be able to showcase his words to thousands of young football fans via

 “To be able to intern in a serious media, to be immersed in the professional environment of sports journalism is a great honor. It is a great opportunity to learn about the profession from the inside, to talk with professionals, and understand if sports journalism is for me, if I am ready to continue in this field. I want to obtain as many useful skills as possible during the internship from creating news, photo and video content to serious on-the-spot reports. The International Children’s Social Programme Football for Friendship is carried out by Gazprom PJSC since 2013. Participants of the programme, Young players and Young Journalists, are girls and boys aged 12, including those with disabilities. United in the International Teams of Friendship to play in the Football for Friendship World Championship, Young Players represent different countries and cultures. Young Journalists cover the events of the programme in the International Children’s Press Center. This way, they learn to communicate with each other using the language of friendship and speak about the world without war and discrimination.

All participants of the programme receive the title of Young Ambassadors and upon their return home, they continue to share their unique experience gained at Football for Friendship and promote the common human values: friendship, equality, fairness, health, peace, devotion, victory, traditions, and honour. Football for Friendship is supported by the UEFA, FIFA, International Olympic Committee, football federations of different countries, international charity funds, famous athletes, politicians, and artists. For the previous seasons, the programme has brought more than 6 thousand participants together and acquired over 5 million followers. In 2019, Football for Friendship set a world record and obtained the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® title for the most nationalities in a football training session in history.
