"Love is..." comics series illustrator created special sticker pack for Football for Friendship programme
The sticker pack will be available free for iOS and Android from 21 may in 186 countries of the world. To install the sticker pack, you need to download or update the official Gazprom International Children's Social Programme Football for Friendship app. The 14 stickers are pictures of the official Football for Friendship mascots dog Freddy and cat Freida.
The stickers can be used in iMessage and Whatsapp messengers. The heroes of the pack can convey the emotions of the user and the key values of the programme: friendship, equality, fairness, health, devotion.
The drawings for the pack were created by the famous British illustrator Bill Asprey, the illustrator of the famous comics series "Love is...". Asprey is also the author of the images of the dog Freddy and the cat Freida, which he created as the official mascots of the Gazprom International Children's Social Programme Football for Friendship. Freddy and Freida's friendship symbolizes the global idea of the programme. The aim of the image of two animals so different from one another coexisting in harmony is to remind the Young Participants from all over the world about equality, mutual respect, and the joy of coming together.
"I am proud to be able to convey in my drawings the values of Football for Friendship. I myself fully support them. The idea of creating Freddy and Freida came to me when I thought of my wife's kitten and puppy. The pets grew up in our home and became very friendly with each other. Watching them play together I thought it would be great if people could unite and forget their differences as easy. That is exactly what the Football for Friendship programme teaches children from all over the world," says Bill Asprey, the author of the programme's mascots.
Bill Asprey will participate in the final events of the Seventh Season of Football for Friendship in Madrid from May 28 till June 2 together with more than 800 Young Participants, coaches, and journalists from Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South Americas. The artist will host a workshop for the children in the Nine Values School. He will help Young Players, Young Journalists, Young Referees, and Young Coaches to draw the logos of the International Teams of Friendship that will participate in the Football for Friendship World Championship. Within the framework of the programme's ecological initiative, the Teams will be named after rare and endangered animal species.
The International Football for Friendship for Friendship and the Football for Friendship World Championship will become the central events with the World Championship Final held in the very heart of
Madrid – on the Plaza Mayor square. On June 1, the participants of the programme will visit the 2019 UEFA Champions League Final at Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid.
